Run
MakeTorrent.
It is recommended that if running version 2.1 or below on WinXP, that you
right-click, select properties, select compatibility, and select Win98).
Select the
folder that contains files you wish to be included in the .torrent by clicking
the filename listed.
If you want to select multiple folders, it is suggest that you switch from
Simple mode to Classic mode.
Where it
says "Tracker:", enter the tracker URL - http://torrentmatrix.com/announce.php
Where it
says "Comment:", you may write a comment for your .torrent or simply leave it
blank.
Now, you
can click "Create .torrent now!". This will finally create the torrent.
Remember where you save this .torrent because you'll need to locate it later.
Click "browse" where it says "Torrent file" and locate the .torrent you wish to upload
If you wish to give your .torrent a special name, type it
in "Torrent name", otherwise leave it blank. If left blank, the name of the
.torrent will be used. (Usually this is easiest).
If your torrent contains an .NFO, follow the same procedure, but select the .NFO file under the NFO file field of the fourm If you do not know what this is, you can leave this field empty.
If your torrent contains an image (like a movie poster, or music album cover art), type in the URL to the JPG/GIF/PNG file in the "Image URL" field
If your torrent has URL that contains more information about it (such as IMDB.com link, or Amazon.com link) enter that URL into the "Weblink URL" field
Select the Language of the torrent contains. If the language is not listed in the "Language" menu, please select "Unknown" and later type the language in as part of the description.
Where it says "Description", clearly state what is
included in your .torrent and what it does.
Select a category that best fits your .torrent.
Click "Upload .torrent"! Your .torrent will be made visible as soon as it is seeded. (Seeded? See below)
Seeding your .torrent
Locate the .torrent you created and open it in your
favorite BitTorrent Client. Additionally, you can download the
.torrent you recently uploaded.
In your BitTorrent Client, select the folder that contains
the file(s) you created the torrent for. Your client will now check your data
to see if it matches the .torrent.
When your BitTorrent Client finishes the check, and it
says "completed" or something similar, you are now seeding! Note: If your client says "allocating
file" or "downloading" you have specified the wrong file.
Now all you have to do is leave your client open and allow
people to download from you. It is important that you keep your
.torrent open for a minimum of 24 hours after you upload your .torrent to
allow others to download and share.
